ChatGPT Atlas is OpenAI's agentic browser, shipped in October 2025. It puts ChatGPT directly into every tab and lets the model autonomously navigate sites to complete research and multi-step tasks.
Atlas operates the real browser, not a cloud version, which is what distinguishes it from OpenAI Operator. The user sees the browser doing things while it works and can step in at any moment to redirect or correct.
The product runs on macOS and Windows. For users already inside the OpenAI ecosystem, Atlas connects to existing ChatGPT conversation history, custom GPTs, and the rest of OpenAI's product surface.
