Gives Claude direct control over your desktop by seeing your screen and performing actions like a human.
Claude Computer Use is Anthropic's feature that gives Claude direct control over a macOS desktop. The model sees the screen via vision, decides what to do, then issues mouse and keyboard commands to carry it out.
The interface is text-prompted: the user types a goal, Claude takes over, and the user can step in at any time. Common tasks include opening applications, navigating a web browser, filling spreadsheets, and chaining actions across multiple programs.
Originally launched in research preview in late 2024, the productised version (Claude Cowork) became available to Claude Pro and Max subscribers in March 2026. Windows support is on Anthropic's roadmap but has not shipped at the time of writing.
