Opera's subscription browser positioned as a testing ground for autonomous web tasks.

Opera Neon is Opera's subscription browser, launched publicly in December 2025. It functions as Opera's agentic surface: the browser acts on the user's behalf inside its own tabs, summarising, comparing, and completing web tasks.

The product is positioned as a testing ground for autonomous web tasks, which means the feature set evolves quickly. As of the time of writing it is paid only ($19.90/month), which sets it apart from the otherwise free agentic browsers.

Neon runs on macOS and Windows and is the only entry in this space from an established browser company. Opera's existing reputation around lightweight builds and unconventional features carries into Neon.
